A Batman Birthday Party Even The Joker Wants To Attend!

Planning a Batman birthday party? Don't let Penguin or the Joker spoil your plans.

Have a look at these ideas and tips below for a batty good time.

Invites

Turn on the bat-signal and let Gotham City know about your celebration.

Make your own invitations by cutting the familiar bat shape out of a stack of black construction paper.

Make some copies of your invitation template and stick them on each bat.

Here's a template to help get you started:

[Your child's name] cordially invites you to help fight crime at his [Xth] birthday party!
You will find the bat cave located at [your address].
Be there at [time and date], and RSVP to Commissioner [your name] at [your phone number.]"

Decorations

Since you're inviting your guests back to the "bat cave," it goes without saying that you'll want to decorate your home to resemble Batman's famous hidden lair.

Try these ideas:

  • Cover the walls with black fabric and use black lights to make it dark.
  • Decorate your ceiling with bats. The Internet is loaded with coloring pages so try to find some bats and have your little batman help with the coloring. Cut them out and string them up.
  • Hang a batman poster or two around the room.
  • Stick to blue and black balloons and streamers.

Crafts / Activities

If you're throwing a Batman party, why not plan for making some crafts too?

Kids love making crafts, and we've got some great batman party ideas for your little craft making artists right here!

Check out these ideas:

  • Using black construction paper, have the kids design their own Bat-Masks. Help them to draw them and then supply them with kid friendly craft scissors to cut them out. Once they're made, help them secure them to their heads with some thin elastic stretch bands.

  • Download some Batman coloring pages online. Most are free and you can then print them out and set up a coloring station at your Batman birthday party.

  • Create flashlight Bat-Signals. Pick up some cheap flashlights from your local dollar store (make sure you get some batteries while you're there too). Cut out small bat shapes and tape them to the lens of the flashlights. For fun, when you're finished dim the lights and let the kids shine their Bat-Signals on the celiing and walls.
There are plenty of crafting ideas you can come up with for your Batman birthday party. With a little imagination (and some help from our visitors), you can have the klids making some great Batman crafts at your next party.

Games

Break the ice with some great batman birthday party games. Involve every child and soon you'll have a room full of loosened up, crime-fighting amateur vigilantes!

  • "Catch the Joker" - Set up a scavenger hunt around the house or outside that includes clues the "Joker" left behind. Split the kids into two teams giving them each one Joker figurine to find.
  • "Crime-fighting Training" - Set up an obstacle course using your kid-friendly playgrounds in the backyard. You don't have to make these especially difficult, but make sure each child can complete each task, such as driving a three-wheeler to the next spot or sliding down a slide. Don't make this a race so that you can avoid kids rushing the course.

Costumes / Props

Invite your guests to attend the party dressed up as their favorite Batman character.

Keep some props handy for those children who show up without a costume. This way everyone feels they're a part of the fun.

Keep simple items handy such as black sheeting material and some construction paper facemasks.

You could even incorporate a craft station into your party whereas all the kids get to design their own character masks.

Food and Drink

  • Poison Ivy Punch - Freeze green Kool-Aid. Crush the frozen cubes and drop into clear cups. Pour red punch into the cups and the green crushed ice will float on top.
  • Riddler Mix - Serve a bowl of green M&M's (you can order custom printed one's at their corporate website) along with yogurt covered raisons and chocolate peanuts.
  • Two-Face Sandwiches - Serve peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches.

Just be sure to check with all parents ahead of time before serving anything with peanuts...for allergy reasons.
