The Golden Birthday

Within our first 31 years of life, we will have what has become named as the Golden Birthday, which to some may also be known as the Champagne Birthday, Star Birthday and sometimes even the Lucky Birthday.

Simply defined, this birthday takes place in the year in which you turn the age of the date when your were born.

To further simplify, if I was born on May 8th, my Golden would have been the year that I turned eight years old.

Although not considered to be a universally observed occasion, this special birthday is celebrated by many worldwide and frequently calls for a large party or other form of celebration to take place.

If not for anything else, it's a wonderful opportunity and/or excuse to get friends, family and other loved ones together in order to celebrate someone's birth.

Are you planning a party for someone's Golden?

If so, you can add to your theme by requesting that your guests attend wearing gold. There's no limit to things they can wear!

They can adorn themselves with gold fabrics, golden party jewellery, gold make-up/nail polish and any other accessories they can find. For the guys, shoes and ties in gold colors are a great touch.

Remember. . the more gold the better!

For a gift choice, I suggest something made of gold like a watch or other jewellery for someone who is close to you such as a spouse or child. For a friend, try to incorporate gold into the gift such as tickets to a play stuffed into a gold envelope. Use your imagination and have some fun!

The bottom line is this: We all have our own, individual Golden Birthday at different ages and that in itself is a great excuse to throw a party.

If you've already missed yours, we are sorry for that. . . but learn from it!

Don't let those close to you miss theirs. . .
