Romantic Birthday Scavenger Hunt

I had a wonderful idea to do a sort of scavenger hunt for my girlfriends birthday, who is now my beautiful wife.

Both being in college at that time, I told her to call me right after her last class right before leaving for home.

When she called me, I gave her directions to a place unknown to her and a bit of a distance from home which led to a restaurant where I was waiting for her.

After a long romantic dinner, I gave her a $100 dollar bill, telling her to hold on to it for later. Then, we ate some dessert, sipped more wine and then I suddenly "remembered" that I forgot something in my car.

I excused myself saying I would be right back. After sneaking out, I jumped into my car and left the parking area. Then, I called her on her cell phone and directed her to pay the waitress with the hundred bucks, get back into her car and then call me back.

When she called me back, I told her to look in the glove box and then I hung up. In the glove box I had left a gift wrapped box containing a hotel room key with directions on how to get there and the room number.

At the hotel, when she opened the door, she was greeted with a strand of helium filled Happy Birthday balloons and a trail of roses leading the the room with the jacuzzi, inside which of course, I was waiting for her.

She still talks about this day and says that it was the best birthday she'd ever had and that she didn't know that I could be so romantic.
