How About A Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman Party!

Spin your magic web with a Spiderman Party they'll remember for years to come.

Have a look at our web of sticky ideas below.

Invites

Why not make your very own comic strip invite.

Find some "Spidey" pictures in coloring books and shrink them down using a photocopier or your scanner. Make some cards out of cardstock paper and paste one of your pictures on the covers. You can even let your little birthday boy or girl color them in.

On the inside, paste your pictures like a comic strip and below each picture, write your invitation wording like you'd find in a comic.

Try something like this:

"Swing on by to [your child's name]'s birthday party at [time and date]!
We'll have Spiderman party games, snacks, drinks, and of course – cake.
Let us know if your child can make it by calling [your name] at [your phone number].
You can hide from the Green Goblin at [your address]."

Decorations

Spin your web....of decorations.

Try these ideas:

  • Cover the entrance to the party room with cobwebs left over from Halloween or purchase some online.
  • Using black streamers, fan out four lengths from the corner of the room. Attach some shorter lengths between them to make the web. At the top, cluster some balloons for a finishing touch.
  • You may consider some themed tableware including plates, cups and napkins form an online retailer.
  • Hang a few Spiderman or some villain posters around the room.
  • Stick to blue and red for balloons and streamers in order to keep with the theme.

Games

Here are a couple of Spiderman party game ideas to help you get started:

  • SpideyWalk - Play some music from the Spidey and Friends CD. Have the kids walk around in a circle over 3 enlarged Spiderman pictures laying on the floor numbered 1 through 3. When you stop the music, the child standing on a picture gets to pick a prize corresponding to that number.
  • Web ring - Have the kids stand in a circle. Using a couple of balls of yarn, have one child hold on to the end while throwing a ball to another. Have this child hold that yarn and throw it to another at random, until a whole field of web is created! Once the web is thick enough, have some snacks or treats ready to toss into the middle. The kids need to maneuver the web and direct the treat to the child you designate. Once every child has a treat, "explode" the web by having all the kids throw their yarn at the center of the circle at the same time.
  • Spidey Trivia - Gather some easy trivia questions about Spiderman and give a treat to everyone who shouts out a right answer, no matter who was first. Keep the trivia game going until everyone has won something.

Costumes / Props

Set up some tables where the kids can design and create their very own Spiderman Party Super Hero masks.

Include materials like fabric, craft foam stickers, glitter glue pens, markers and anything else you think would be useful.

Food and Drink

Try out these cool Spiderman party snack ideas:

Doc Ock Dogs - Cut the ends of the hot dog to make 8 tentacles. When you boil them, the ends will curl like Octopus tentacles.

Green Goblin Punch - Make this drink easily with some Lemon Lime soda, pineapple juice and green sherbet.

Cake

For something a little different, try out this idea:

Bake enough cupcakes (whatever flavor your birthday boy/girl prefers) to fill a cupcake display tree.

Decorate them with red frosting and pipe on spirals using black chocolate glaze.

Using a toothpick, drag it through the spirals to form a web shaped design. Finish off by topping the very top cupcake with a Spiderman candle.

Party Favors / Loot Bags

If you haven't purchased some favors kits from your favorite online store, you can simply pack some treats and goodies into a white plastic gift bag covered with some Spiderman stickers.

You can include things such as a spiderman mask, candy from a pinata, Marvel comics and perhaps some Super Hero figurines.

You can have your little Spiderman help decorate them before the party as a special way to spend some quality time together.
