We're Having A Tinkerbell Birthday Party!

To throw the best Tinkerbell birthday party ever, all you need is Faith, Trust and a little bit of Pixie dust. Welcome to Pixie Hollow where dreams really do come true.

Now let's get to work planning this party!

Invites

Spread the excitement and build up the anticipation for the tinkerbell birthday party! You can buy Tinkerbell related invitation cards online or you can take some time with your child and make some yourself. Here's an idea for you to use.

Using light green construction paper, fold the paper in two and trace half a leaf representing the forest that Tink calls her home. Cut out the shape. On the outer side, paste a picture of Tinkerbell and with dark green glitter pen write, “You are invited to a Tinkerbellation!
Decorate the card with color and sprinkle it with glitter for fairy dust. You can try this verse as an example for inside your invite:

When you wish upon a star
dreams will take you very far
Our fairy has one wish to make
a wish that you’ll come celebrate

Add some flair and make it fun! After all, it is a party!

Games

Tinkerbell Birthday Party games are a fun way to break the ice.

Here are some ideas for you to try:

  • Chase the Thistles - Divide the children into two groups. One group will be designated thistles and another will be designated Vidias.
Seat the children in a circle. One thistle will sit next to a Vidia then another thistle then another Vidia and so on. Now pass a cushion to the beat of music. When the music stops the person with the cushion will be “banished” or “Whacked”. Thistles will have to do a dance before they retire from the game and Vidias will have to pretend to be whacked by a thistle before they retire. The winner will be the child who remains after all the other players have retired.

  • Tinker Bell Tag - Each players is given a small pouch of pixie dust (colored sparkles). Each taking turns being "it", when they touch a player, that player freezes. They remain this way until another player sprinkles fairy dust on them. (Note: This game is best played outdoors).

  • Freezing Fairies - Assign a head fairy and give them a wand. While playing some Tinkerbell themed music, the head fairy will strike her wand and the music will be turned off. All other players are to stop dancing. Anyone left dancing steps out of the game. The last person standing becomes the new head fairy. Try to give everyone a turn.

Costumes / Props

You can ask that all your invites dress up as one of their favorite fairy characters from the movie, or you can make dressing up a fun activity during your party.

The wings are the key! Cut out enough wing shapes from white poster board in advance.

Allow the children to use glitter, markers, or crayons to decorate their wings. They can tape on ribbons or streamers and anything else that will make it fun to dance around with.

A safety pin is all you will need to attach their wings to their shirt collars.

Food and Drink

After dancing, your little fairies will get hungry. Keep your Tinkerbell birthday party healthy by offering these simple treats:

  • Tiny triangular sandwiches made with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.

  • Make colorful drinks to match the colors of the fairies of the tinkerbell world! You could have a drink named “Fawn”; another named Tinkerbell (mint in sugar syrup and water will give you a healthy green colored drink). Vidias’s drink will be deep purple grape juice and so on...

  • You can skewer items such as fruit, cheese and pieces of chicken and call them fairy wands.

Party Favors / Loot Bags

Say thank you to your little fairy guests by sending them home with a special gift.

In a small paper bag or perhaps a purchased themed gift bag, add little items such as glitter lip-gloss, plastic clip-on flowers for their hair and beads or plastic jewels.

Of course, consider the age group before including small items such as those mentioned above.
